In my search to see what else is out there regarding open, honest discussion of parenthood, I came across the Madison Postpartum Peers (http://madisonpostpartum.wordpress.com/) Their first meeting is September 22, 2012. In my initial announcement about my parenting project,
I mentioned that the shame, disenchantment, etc felt different than postpartum depression. I think, however, if left unchecked these feelings can lead to it. If this holds true for you, this group may be a good resource. A special thank you to Ann, the group's coordinator, for your encouraging email and "truthing".
